Session fatigue is defined as “there are too many sessions at San Antonio Startup Week, how do I choose?” Good news! We’re here to help…well, Amy is here to help. She picked her top five that she thinks you can’t miss at this year’s conference.
Five Must-Attend Sessions at SASW 2021:
- “Data Doesn’t Lie: the Future of Downtown of SA”
When? Monday, October 11, 2021
Time? 3:45-4:45 PM CST
Why? If you’re motivated and inspired by futuristic thinking and seeing the big picture, this session is a must attend. Led by community leaders and visionaries, I’m ready for this session to begin to paint the picture for what Downtown San Antonio is (and can) become. - “Investing in Diverse Founders”
When? Tuesday, October 12, 2021
Time? 11:15-12:15 PM CST
Why? As someone who’s extremely passionate about racial & economic equity, starting the conversation on how to support underrepresented founders is key to making real progress. This panel consists of those engaged in making change in this area and they will be able to educate on the real challenges that underrepresented founders have historically faced.
- “What Ted Lasso Can Teach You About Leadership”
When? Tuesday, October 12, 2021
Time? 1:15-2:15 PM CST
Why? I will definitely be in attendance if they’re 1) talking about Ted Lasso and 2) inspiring me to be a better leader using Ted Lasso as an example. - “Startup Spotlight: SA in a Box”
When? Monday, October 18, 2021
Time? 12:30-1:00 PM CST
Why? I have been on both the giving and receiving side of San Antonio in a Box, and these boxes bring me instant joy! Allison, the founder, is passionate about local vendors and creators. I hope to learn more about how this idea came to fruition, what resources from the community have helped propel this company forward, and what’s in the pipeline for this great company. - “Fireside Chat: Eric Somerville, CEO of Venture for America”
When? Wednesday, October 20, 2021
Time? 2:30-3:30 PM CST
Why? Venture for America’s newest CEO is making the trip to San Antonio, and as a Fellow myself, I can’t wait to hear his thoughts on the future of entrepreneurship and his vision for Venture for America. As I’m continually interested in how companies and startups can leave a positive impact in their communities, I look forward to his perspective on this. I’m expecting another session that will leave us feeling empowered by work that’s being done to invest in young entrepreneurs and how San Antonio can encourage social impact entrepreneurship.
